Vice-President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani received 16.09.2015. delegation of Dubrovnik-Neretva County - led by the Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić. County delegation has, plainly, came to Brussels at the invitation of Head of the Croatian Delegation in European Parliament Dubravka Šuica. The reason is very significant - the 50th anniversary of the founding of Folklore ensemble "Linđo". Delegation of the Neretva boat marathon that is organizing a big boat marathon on the Danube also came to Brussels. This is to be staged in 2018 - on the fifth anniversary of the Croatian membership in the EU - on the route from Vienna to Vukovar, 400 kilometers long!
The main topics of conversation between County delegation and Tajani were culture, tourism and cooperation of Dubrovnik-Neretva County with the Italian regions of Molise and Abruzzo. They also discussed the candidacy of the city for European Capital of Culture 2020.
Primarily, members of the folk ensemble "Linđo" and boatmen delegation got familiar with the work of the EP. Then "Linđo" presented their performing skills at the Esplanade of the EP. Numerous Members of the European Parliament had an opportunity to gain insight into the rich Croatian tradition, heritage and customs. Linđo aroused a great interest with performance in the center of Brussels - presenting the Croatian cultural heritage. The aim of this visit was to show once again a huge Croatian contribution to European cultural heritage.
