On September 15, 2017 Vleva agency (The Liaison agency Flanders-Europe) hosted the event “Breakfast session Europe on the Move: the mobility package” for the purpose of clarifying the extensive mobility package of the European Commission called “Europe on the move”.

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in cooperation with ECOLISE has organized the conference „Launch of The European Day of Sustainable Communities“. The conference started on 22nd September.

The conference „Financing climate action at local regional level: funding opportunities for the adaptation challenge“, organized by Commission for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy, took place in Brussels, at the European Committee of the Regions, on September 19th 2017.

On Saturday, 1 July 2017, Estonia takes upon its shoulders the presidency of the council of the European Union – a rotating presidency every member of the EU holds for six months at a time. This means that for the next six months, Estonia will be responsible for defining the council’s positions while taking into account the interests of all member states and remaining neutral at the same time.The majority of the themes to be dealt with by the current presidency originate from the preceding presidency – in Estonia’s case, from Malta’s. However, each country holding the presidency can highlight in their own presidency programme the themes which require more attention.
