At the invitation of the President of the region of Prešov Peter Chudík, delegation of Dubrovnik Neretva region, led by Mayor Nikola Dobroslavić, 14 and 15 November visited the Slovakian region with our region already have established cooperation. An initiative was launched to formalize cooperation which were discussed at the bilateral meeting held in the city of Humenne.

The European Commission organised the 2016 edition of the European Tourism Day in Brussels on 29 November 2016. This year’s theme was “Enhancing synergies between tourism and cultural and creative industries. Innovative solutions as the driver for jobs and growth”.

The EIP-SCC Action Clusters on Citizen Focus and Integrated Planning, Policy & Regulation, ERRIN (European Regions, Research and Innovation Network) and ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability) organized the ‘Inclusive Smart Cities: A European Manifesto on Citizen Engagement’ Conference on 23rd November 2016 at Dutch Permanent Representation in Brussels.

The European Commission and the European Parliament in collaboration with UNESCO, organized a photo exhibition on 15 November 2016 to celebrate the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Europe inscribed in 2015 and 2016. The new World Heritage sites join the EU’s network of over 300 sites. The exhibition was an opportunity to showcase the EU’s commitment to supporting World Heritage in the lead up to the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
